A ZR2 version
For the first time, the Silverado has its own off-road variant with the ZR2. Chevrolet hopes to be successful in competing with the Ford F-150 Raptor and Ram 1500 Rebel. In this sense, the truck will be equipped, unsurprisingly, with the most powerful engine (6.2-liter V8) and an array of exclusive technologies.
Aesthetically, the Silverado ZR2 stands out with several styling cues, including a black insert on the hood, a unique grille with integrated lighting and a special emblem, wheel arch moldings, ZR2 logos, 18-inch wheels. Exclusive inches and a jet black and stone gray leather interior with dark accents.
As for the mechanics, the truck uses 40mm Multimatic DSSV shocks, front and rear limited-slip differentials as well as 33-inch off-road tires. The bumper offers a 31.8 ° approach angle and the driver can select Terrain mode for the off-road experience.
4, 6 or 8 cylinders
The Silverado offers no less than four powertrains, half of which have been upgraded for 2022. Among them, we find the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder that produces 310 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, all married to an eight-speed gearbox.

Then, Chevrolet still supplies a diesel engine, a 3.0-liter six-cylinder. The latter generates 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. The transmission has ten speeds.
Finally, there are two V8 engines. The first, smaller at 5.3 liters, produces 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft. This version can be mated to an eight or ten speed transmission. The bigger one - 6.2 liters - has 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, all mated to a ten-speed transmission.
All versions can be equipped with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. Consumption data was still not available at the time of this writing, but it is to be expected that it will remain similar to that of 2021.
