Chevrolet Silverado: interesting news for 2021
October 09 2020,
For its third year on the market, the current generation of the Chevrolet Silverado sees several interesting improvements being made to it. Let's take a look at the question to see what more the model offers you in 2021.
1 - towing capacity
The Silverado has something for everyone when it comes to towing capacity with its comprehensive and varied engine lineup. For 2021, two of them see their capacity take a significant leap forward. Initially, the models that will receive the 2.7-liter turbo 4-cylinder will be able to tow up to 9,600 pounds (two-wheel drive, single cab model). We're talking about 9,300 pounds with a crew cabin configuration. What's most impressive is that the capacity has jumped 2,500 pounds from last year.
With the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine, the possibility climbs from a maximum of 1900 pounds to 9500, which is a very interesting leap. Load capacity also increases by 2,280 pounds with models equipped with this mechanism.
2 - Multiflex
The name Multiflex debuts this year to designate the multifunction tailgate that will be able to equip the Silverado. The latter offers six configuration possibilities, in particular to facilitate getting into the box, to secure the load or to transform into a workspace. Its capacity of 375 pounds is proof of its robustness.
3 - More equipment
As is often the case from year to year, the model benefits from a number of improvements in equipment. For example, standard on the more upscale models and offered across the range will be the wireless connection for the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto applications. Another example, with the basic model WT (Work Truck), satellite radio will now be possible. Throughout the range, we see these kinds of little touches added to the offer.
For more information on the equipment of each version of the Silverado to see if the one you are interested in has been upgraded, a visit to the dealership is essential.
