Meet the Team

Automont Chevrolet Buick GMC was founded in Mont-Laurier in 1985 by Jacques Lafleur and Richard Valiquette under the name Automont Pontiac Buick.

The beginnings of the company were modest. The team consisted of only 5 people, but the skills and involvement of the staff helped to move the concession forward quickly. In just two years, Automont has tripled the number of employees in its dealership and has solidly established itself as a renowned dealer in the Mont-Laurier region.

In 2006, Jacques Lafleur retired, allowing Geneviève Valiquette to become a shareholder. Geneviève, who has been with the company since 1996, had a degree in Automotive Marketing Affiliations from Georgian College.

In 2009, the Pontiac banner was discontinued and Automont officially became Automont Chevrolet Buick GMC Ltée. The dealership underwent major upgrades and renovations in 2010 to comply with the new GM branding.

With 20 years of experience, Geneviève Valiquette became a dealer owner in September 2016. Richard Valiquette, proud of his achievements, continues to be part of the Automont team.

With more than 30 employees, Geneviève Valiquette is determined to continue the smooth operation of the company by prioritizing customer service and the development of her team.
