2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vs 2021 Toyota Tundra: Technology Matters!

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers a wider choice of powertrains, but it also takes the lead technologically. And when you're towing heavy loads or dealing with a job site, technology matters!

Here we compare it to the 2021 Ford F-150.

More transmission choices and better efficiency with the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

The Silverado offers a catalog filled with powertrains, with the 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel producing 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque and the 4.3-liter V6 developing 285 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque. There's also the turbocharged four-cylinder that packs 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque and can now tow up to 9,600 pounds!

Two V8 engines are on the menu, the 5.3-liter which develops a cavalry of 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and the 6.2-liter which develops 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. The latter can tow up to 13,400 pounds.

The F-150 line lacks a four-cylinder option and only offers a single V8. The other engines are V6s, some of which are hybrids that have not proven their worth in the field. In addition, the 2021 Ford F-150 offers only one transmission choice for all of its engines. With the Silverado 1500, you can choose from six-speed, eight-speed, and ten-speed.

2021 Silverado 1500: A Technologically More Versatile Truck

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado is now available with the Multi-Flex tailgate, which offers six unique functions and converts into a convenient workstation that can support up to 375 pounds. This tailgate comes with different configurations that are activated using a key fob or two buttons mounted on the tailgate.
