Three things to know about the all-new electric Chevrolet Silverado

Chevrolet unveiled its first-ever all-electric truck last week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas when it unveiled the all-new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV.

The latter will hit the market next year as a 2024 model. Here's everything you want to know about the new electric Chevrolet Silverado.

It will be very powerful and will have excellent autonomy.

There are several versions of the electric Chevrolet Silverado, as is the case with the current Silverado. The first model to hit the market will be the First Edition model in RST configuration. The latter will produce a whopping 664 horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque! A WT version will arrive later with an equally interesting 510 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque.

The all-new Silverado EV is built on GM's Ultium platform, a truly impressive 800-volt architecture. The latter will offer up to 640 kilometers of autonomy in addition to allowing the Chevrolet Silverado EV to recharge in just 10 minutes (for 160 kilometers) on a 350 kW terminal.

It will have excellent towing capacity.

Towing capacity is one of the most important parts of a truck and the Chevrolet Silverado EV will have plenty to offer. The First Edition version (which sold out in 12 minutes, by the way) will be able to tow up to 10,000 lbs and it will have a payload of 1,300 lbs.

The electric Silverado will also be offered in other versions, some of which can reach 20,000 lbs of towing capacity!

It will offer advanced technologies and a luxurious interior.

The electric Chevrolet Silverado will have many safety technologies to offer in addition to offering a luxurious interior displaying a 17-inch central screen and a 14-inch instrumentation screen. That said, what will be even more impressive are the technologies tailored to the needs of truck owners. We are thinking in particular of the new Midgate system which will allow the partition between the passenger compartment and the body to be removed in order to increase the length of the body. We are also thinking of the adaptive suspension which can increase ground clearance by 50 mm.
